Dear Professor Marshall,

Good day. My letter is probably going to be a surprise to you. We need your help, real help. Not just any doctor, but someone who knows a lot about this bacteria. A GP is not good enough in this case, we need someone who has knowledge and connections with collegues around the world. It's about the helicabacter pylori. I have read an article on the internet about an existing vaccine against this bacteria. I heard that it is developed individually for every person. Is it true? Could you explain the process please? Step by step. Here, in New Zealand, doctors don't really know a thing about it, so if need to we can come to Australia. But what's required of us? Tests? How are these tests called?
What happens after the bacteria is found? Is it put in the Petri cup and then grown?

In Switzerland, you probably know, this bacteria is considered number 1 national enemy. I'd say outside Switzerland as well, enemy of the whole world.

Please give me all possible options. It's a life and death situation for 2 people. We need to save them!!! Antibiotics don't help any more. Plus it's such a huge impact on the liver, heart and etc. We desperately need something to slow this bacteria down and start eliminating it. It is highly resistant to antibiotics, as you would know. And these people need some time to rest without this bacteria to heal their stomach ulcer. A vaccination would increase the growth of the antibodies, so the body will react to it reappearing in the future much faster. This vaccination will give them 3-5 years to heal.
I also suspect that there might be a second strain of this bacteria in their blood supply to the brain, so we
are worried there is a high chance of a stroke.

Dr. Marshall, please advise how exactly to get this vaccine? I live not far from you, in New Zealand, so it would be no problem to get it. People who need it are not in New Zealand however, but I can deliver it to them.

Thank you. Emily.

A quick answer for you - no vaccine can cure it yet. Maybe in 10 years. Meantime study and read the FAQ files for more information. Also, search for keywords in the forums - you may find a similar case as yourself.
