You can get treatment now without endoscopy - unless you have a serious illness such as weight loss etc (called "warning symptoms") to suggest a more serious condition. That is why we invented the breath test - to save you all that bother of endoscopy.

p.s. However, there are many reasons to have endoscopy in any case, especially to take biopsies to see if any worrying changes exist in the stomach lining; also to capture some helicobacter and test them to see which antibiotics might be the best ones to use for you.

Hi again, yesterday i did endoscopy and the doctor found an small duodenal ulcer,an helicobacter pylori according to the urea breath test.
clarithromycin teva 500mg twice a day
lansoprazol ratiopharm 30mg twice a day
metronidazol actavis 500mg twice a day was prescribed on seven days.Should this help me get rid of my stomach problems ?
Any thing i should be aware during this seven days treatment or i can just continue as usually? Thanks in advance.

This is good news - i.e. nothing terribly serious - and you are on the world's #1 treatment. After treatment have another breath test to prove cure then you should be cured (85% cure rate). Please post a follow-up note as you go through the process. Is there anyone in your family who also has Hp?

Hi and thanks for your replay, yes most probably my father has had HP cause i remember he had many years of stomach problems and heart burn. But in the last 15 or more yrs before he died(83yrs old)he never complained of any stomach pain(he used to drink some liquid medicine packed on sachets).Might be that i got this bacteria due to the difficult living conditions i have been through most of my life.
I will try to keep u guys updated. I will be doing urea breath test in one to two months,a guy in the pharmacy advised me to drink cultured milk during and after treatment.
Kindest regards.
P.S. sorry for my bad English.
*I'm on fourth day of treatment no side effects so far.
* finished the 7 days treatment,i have some minor stomach pain which is much less than before, fingers crossed until my next breath test.
# It is one month since i have finished the triple treatment,as i said before i had no side effects appart being tired..the pain on my upper stomach and chest disappeared since day one on the treatment. Now i feel very good , sometimes i have a sort of thumping pain(which i hardly notice) on my upper abdomen that lasts only for a few seconds .I will be doing breath test on 6 may.
# Urea breath test done today, doctor was optimistic, now i am waiting test results or another drug prescription(hope not) on my P.Box.Fingers crossed
