Dear all,

Im a 33 year old M from the Netherlands I have been struggling with H Pylori for awhile. I have bad inflammation in the duodenum due H Pylori. My symptoms are not too bad and under control with Mastic Gum and probiotics atm.

I failed the first treatment after 4 days, amoxicillin 1g, clarithromycin 500mg, 40mg pantaprozol. Due extreme anxiety, weight loss and i couldnt eat anymore.

Now the gi doc prescribed me a new treatment after endoscopy;
4x Tetracycline 250mg, 2x Metronidazol 500mg, 2x esomeprazol 20mg for 14 days.

My question is, is this treatment good? We dont have Bismuth or Pepto bismol in my country and i worry abit now, scared that i wont survive that treatment.

Hey, sorry for the slow response. Have you completed the treatment?
I think PBMT is a good treatment.
P = PPI
B = Bismuth
M = Metronidazole
T = Tetracycline

It is true that bismuth is pretty hard to get. However, if your doctor is able to prescribe that to you, it is likely that your doctor knows where to get them.

Imbawim, I have suffered the same things as you and still am. The anxiety can be HORRIBLE!

Stop eating carbohydrates. Every time I make progress with killing them (HP bastards) and start eating carbs again, they always come back. You don't see docs talk about this but the HP thrive on carbs and not so much on starchless vegies, lean meat. I was the same and cold not eat at all for a while. I eat broccoli and chicken when I'm in crisis (I am now).

Your treatments will work if you get off carbs. It always works for me.
