Weight gain after eradication

I've gained about 5+ kg weight after eradication!

I was diagnosed in Jan, did the anti biotics dose and PPI for a few months due to continued symptoms. Endoscopy in May confirmed HP gone but found one area of IM.

Had lost about 5 kgs in this saga due to stress and worry, diet control and avoiding drinks etc.

Stopped PPI about 3 months back. Most symptoms gone except some pressure feel in stomach if I over indulge.

Now I've gained almost all back and more! Is that normal?! I'm not over eating just gave up on all the restrictions and control that was somewhat forced on me by the symptoms. More worrying is the gain is mostly in waist line.

I'm worried if that means the bug is back or IM worse etc. Next scope advised by doctor after 3 years. But I'm considering earlier tests.

it is common for H. pylori patients to gain weight after H. pylori eradication.

Your stomach is in good mood and your appetite improves.

With or without H. pylori, it is not a good idea to eat to 100%.

Exercise can help with the overall fitness.
