Stopping PPI as needed

I was diagnosed in Jan, took antibiotics.

Was on PPI for a while then endoscopy in May confirmed gastritis and IM. But it also showed no more HP. Since I had stomach mild pain and discomfort doctor asked me to continue PPI for a year. Nexium 20mg.

Last week on a foreign trip forgot to pack PPI. After two days I felt totally normal after long long time! It's been like that for ten days plus now. Even after return didn't resume. Only very rarely I have some discomfort usually after large meal. Otherwise feel lot better!

Should I just regulate PPI dose only taking it if the pain etc return or stick to schedule and keep popping it? Worried over impact on IM due to "silent" gastritis.

I'm 53 male.

sounds like a good news. if you feel good without taking it, then you dont need to take PPI anymore. But make sure you discuss this with your doctor. So he can monitor your condition.
