Has there been any study done on why the 15% have symptoms?

Is it possible that antibiotics disturb the microbiome and allow H Pylori to go wild? I had antibiotics as a kid and throughout my teen years.

when H. pylori infects someone, there are three outcomes.
1. the acid goes up
2. the acid goes down
3. the acid stays normal

Most of the infected healthy people will have normal acid level. but some will have acid goes up, which will lead to stomach ulcers. some people will have acid goes down and lead to stomach cancer.

the change of acid production is depending on the inflammation severity and the damage dealt. If the acid making gland cells are damaged and replaced by other cells, then acid secretion will decrease.

antibiotics can certainly disturb the microbiome, but I dont think it will make HP goes wild. as majority of the microbes are suppressed, the minority gets to dominate. HP is a very slow growing organism and cannot compete with other organism.
