Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and decided to join in hopes of someone being able to shed some light.

I currently do not know what I have, but almost every morning when I wake up, I have crazy heartburn, almost as if acid is coming back up. I also get these attacks in the middle of the night and wake up coughing and my throat burning. I usually take Pepcid Complete or Zantec which solves the problem, but I know that this is most likely a problem with one of 3 things, Stomach Ulcer (h.pylori), GERD, or Gastritis.

I went to a GP late last year, but unfortunately since then, my insurance has changed and now an endoscopy would be out of my own pocket, which is about a $1,500 - $2,000 hit.

I would like to know how else would I be able to tell if I have H.Pylori vs GERD vs Gastritis? Because unfortunately at the moment I do not have the money to have an endoscopy done.

Please advise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds a lot like GERD. H. Pylori is usually accompanied by stomach pain and indigestion (can be diagnosed through a Breath test or stool antigen test). Gastritis too causes some stomach pain.

Have you tried elevating your bed to avoid acid reflux at night?

Jesus fucking christ...What kind of people would charge you 2000 dollars for an endoscopy...Even if i didn't have the state insurance my bill was about 200 euros.

You can do a breath test, it works pretty great too and its way cheaper ( and less awkward that a stool test ), also do you have pain from 0 to 1 hour after eating ? especially fatty food ?
Go eat a mcdonald and then walk for about 1h30 and see if you have abdominal pain.
