I have been battling H. Pylori for a year now.
Treatment #1 - Clarithromycin + Amoxicillin + PPI for 2 wks. C14 urea breath test performed a month later. Positive for H. Pylori.
Treatment #2 - Levaquin + Amoxicillin + PP1 for 2 wks. C14 urea breath test 1 month later. Positive for H. Pylori.
Treatment #3 - Pylera (Metronidazole + Tetracycline + Bismuth + PPI) for 10 days. C14 urea breath test 1 month later, which was last Friday. STILL POSITIVE for H. Pylori. :( :( :(

My current C14 Urea breath test # is 360. MY GI doctor says that's definitely positive. As luck would have it, he is also RETIRING from his practice at the end of the month.

I followed the dosing instructions like clockwork -- all 3 times. I never missed a dose.

Help....what should my next steps be? I"m in Dallas, TX, USA.

Are there any drugs left to cure me????

I think instead of blindly trying different antibiotics, you should find a specialist who can do endoscopy, bacterial culture, and antibiotic sensitivity testing. That way, he'll know which antibiotics would be most likely to kill your H. pylori.

We have been practicing this and achieve a cure rate of more than 90%

Like the previous poster said, you should find a specialist who can go through all the necessary steps with you. You mentioned that your doctor is retiring, did he not send you to someone else to continue your treatment?
