H pylori heartburn or other infection?

Is it heartburn/acid reflux or a viral infection? Maybe strep? I finished my treatment for h pylori a month ago and meet with a GI dr next week. For the last few days I have had a sore throat, difficulty swallowing and feeling like there's something stuck in my chest all day. Nothing I am taking is making it go away. I went to a walk in clinic dr today who told me to increase my omeperazole to 40 mg instead of 20. He also gave me domperidone. I'm a teacher and around a lot of sick children with viral infections so it is possible that I have one . Should I go back to the dr to see if I have strep throat or some type of infection? The pain I'm having Is all day, all night, no relief from anything I'm taking. I don't have a fever.

Have you done a breath or stool test to confirm the eradication of H. pylori? Having sore throat is very general. Perhaps your local GP can tell you more.

Hi, i started my second course of a treatment for H pylori, first didnt work,,, i am taking
Nexium 20mg breakfast and dinner and 4 times a day 3 pills of Pylera and i am feeling not well, i have constant spasm, strong headache, cant sleep restless, have tingling in face and hands, heartburn, was thinking is that normal? How long this symptoms can stay? Cant see my doctor now,, maybe you can help me

The symptoms normally subside immediately after stopping the antibiotics. But I have to remind you to hang in there to complete the treatment. As you may know, if you stop this treatment, it is likely that the bug gain resistance and stronger antibiotics are required for future treatment.

Sounds like you are having side effect from the antibiotics. How many more days left for your treatment? The side effect will normally ware off right after you stop your antibiotics. You need to talk to your local doctor as he can examine you more thoroughly. However, I would still recommend you to finish the treatment if the side effect is tolerable.
