had an endoscope done. dr said stomach looked normal, and biopsy showed no signs of h pylori. stopped all meds, and put me on nexium. The nexium is helping some. This bacteria wreaked havoc on my gut for three months. It still feels like my gut is on fire at times. Stools are very slowly returning back to normal. have been taking a pro biotic as well as changing my diet. the infection caused some massive acid reflux. However I am sleeping a little better at night, but I still have to sleep sitting up. Might have to have a colonostomy (sp) next. My next appointment with the gastrologist is in two weeks. I have lost 21 pounds because of this crap.

H. pylori used to be the most common cause of stomach problem. However, after the discovery of H. pylori treatment, the prevalence in developed country has dropped and the stomach problem is replaced by unknown factors.

according to some forum members, the recovery could range from a few weeks to a few months (and some even years). Hopefully you are in the luckier group which recover as soon as possible.

Thanks. I am feeling much better on the nexium. diet change seems to be helping too. I have also been taking stuff for gastritis. Still have a little pain, and acid reflux. But im sleeping better. I'm supposed to see the gastrologist after the 22.
