Hello sir/madam !

from last 2-3 years, i have h.pylori positive. up-till now i have taken 8 course of Amoxicillin 1g + clarithromycin 500mg and clarithromycin 250mg + Metronidazole 400mg. But unfortunately unable to kill this bacteria.
I live in Karachi-Pakistan. only few doctors know much about h.pylori. My lastest gastroscopy states " Bacteria like h.pylori found . focal Intestinal metaplasia is noted" which shows it is still positive and need further treatment.

1.Can i use quad therapy for it ? (as doctors are not prescribing), they always give Amoxicillin 1g + clarithromycin 500mg OR clarithromycin 250mg + Metronidazole 400mg.treatment to me and what medicines would be included in it ?
(I m allergy to Levofloxacin)

2. Do you know any H.pylori Specialist in Karachi- Pakistan.

I have the same problem unfortunately. I doubt we are getting reinfection from our family members. I have taken 3 heavy antibiotic course with PPI but all of my results were positive. Most of the south asian people are infected with the bacteria , so the probability of getting reinfected is very high. I hope I am wrong.

8 courses is a bit too much. your H. pylori must be super strong against the triple therapy by now. Yes you can have quadruple therapy as long as Metronidazole and Clarithromycin is not repeated. You can repetitively use amoxicillin as it is very hard for H. pylori to get resistance to it.

Indeed ! The worst thing about this bacteria is Doctors are not much aware about it. Infact i have seen many doctors who consider this as nothing and says all your problems ( Refux, Hyperactivity, heartburns etc ) are more stress related than H.pylori. Huh !

On my View ! There is very strong relation between H.pylori and Stress ( Perhaps directly or may be because it never allows to settle down and creates of multiple problems.)

May be or perhaps it has not gone completely with my previous therapies. ( For 1 tnvrstar).

Excluding these therapies i have used mastic gum tablets , probiotics, DGL licorice, Monlolauin, High dosage of Vitamin C, Coconut oil, Garlic, Apple Vinegar etc
But it is still positive .

By the way, if you search mastic gum from this forum, you'll find other members' comment about it. From my understanding, nothing eradicate H. pylori except for antibiotic.
