So I went to the Dr for what I thought was a kidney stone, I get them a lot, after a cat scan I find out no stone but there is a mass on my adrenal gland, so I follow up with my dr who does some blood work and urine test. He calls me the next day to say you have h pylori. I ave just started day 2 of treatment. I have a few questions. Recently at work a container they make Gatorade in was found to have black all inside the spout apparently those who make it never thought to clean it . Is the contaminated container where I contracted this from? I have a pregnant daughter should I worry about her possibly getting it if we shared a soda? I feel like someone is ripping thru my stomach. I take 2 Percicent every 4 hours for pain and it's not helping, should I have further testing, I can't stand the pain anymore .. Ty for all who reply and help

I can barely understand your English.

Many many people suffer with the treatment. But DO NOT stop taking the anti-biotics. H pylori is a nasty bug and it needs to be killed off or you will suffer more.
Take Pro-biotics to replenish any gut flora that may have been killed by the anti-biotics.. This is extremely important.

Get everyone in your family to do a Urea Breath Test so if anyone else has it, they can get the medication too.
You can be re-infected via saliva. So you don't want your partner to give you H. pylori back.

I don't plan on stopping my medicine. I want this pain to be gone. I asked about spreading it since my doctor and the pharmacist both told me I had nothing to worry about. But all the reading I have done says I can spread it to my family. I also stated should I have further testing done? My stomach pain is severe even the pain pills are not helping ease it. I am just trying to learn all I can about it . In the last week I have been told a lot of bad news from my doctor. I am just trying to take it all in and learn something about all the medical issues he has informed me about. Pro-biotics what are they?

Just want to clarify a few facts.
I hope H. pylori is the source of your pain.
H. pylori will not cause kidney stone.
H. pylori rarely survive outside human body. so, unclean food will not spread H. pylori.
Saliva can spread H. pylori, although not proven, sharing food should be avoided.
after your treatment, you should do a follow up breath test 4 weeks later to check if the treatment is successful.
UBT of C13 or C14 works fine. However, C13 is more expensive than C14.

probiotic is good bacteria. eg. lactobacillus from yogurt. However, taking it while having antibiotic wont be helpful as they'll just be killed by antibiotics.

so what antibiotics are you taking now?

They have me on Prevpac for 14 days it consists of Prevacid 30 mg, biaxin 500 mg, amoxicillin 1000 mgs , take them twice a day. I know it doesn't cause kidney stones , I went to the dr for pain on my left side which I thought was being caused by a stone, but a blood test revealed h pylori. So probiotic would be senseless while I'm on antibiotics? Is there anything that can help with the stomach pain ? Ive tried to read as much as I can about this. I am wondering how do you know if you have an ulcer? All my dr did was the blood test and prescribe the antibiotics didn't even explain to me what it was. He seemed to act like it was no big deal but then I began researching it and it appears to be a big deal to me. I just want the pain to stop, I feel so drained and exhausted. Thanks for the info.

If you have a lot of pain, discuss it with your doctor in case it is serious. However, ulcers can cause severe pain and might take a couple of weeks to heal (up to 8 weeks sometimes). The Prevpac will heal the ulcer as it kills the Hp so you don't need to be tested for the ulcer in the first instance - the treatment would be the same.
You can boost the acid blocker dose, or take additional antacid, that might help. Also, a bland diet, not too much roughage, might sit better on the stomach and allow it to clear the meals a little faster.
The fact that you have pain as a major symptom is not really typical of H.pylori and most ulcer pains do settle when you take acid blockers. Therefore, maybe you need an endoscopy or furtehr tests if you don't feel better soon. BUT DON'T STOP YOUR ANTIBIOTICS. 8-)
